Rock,

Love cruising the site for solid hiking knowledge--

Concerning your lemonade bowl (http://hikinghq.net/gear/lemonade_bowl.html) creations, do you get any aftertaste when using it with different foods?

I would think that the taste of drinks would carry over into my cream of wheat and then into my mac-n-cheese?

What is your experience?

I have used a lemonade jar like Rock uses. The only time I have noticed an after taste is when I use it for making grape koolaide or some other strong flavored drink/food. I also found that if you don't let the food or drink sit in it for very long, there is little if any after taste. Of course I don't have the best taste buds around so you may have different results. If worse comes to worse try one of the glad or other brand disposable bowls and make a simple cozy or use an item of clothing that you have with you. I have done this when I had others in my party and found them to be effective and to resist taste tranfer well. Good Luck

I'm giggling right now. Came across the jar article last night and today I found a container of Kool Aid on sale. A new toy for just $1.75. I'll use the drink powder so I'll give the container a $0.75 price. Not bad for bowl, cup, and storage container. Might just get some more.

I wouldn't use it to carry liquids in my pack though, this is no Nalgene container. The top will pop off if you screw it on too tight. Would have no problem putting dry goods in a bag then inside the jar.

Not sure if this will replace my margarine tub (it just fits so handy in my current pot), but it might if I buy a narrower and taller pot.

I occasionally notice a hint of mint or berry in my coffee the next morning if I use it for tea the previous night.
