Any recommendations out there for a good book or web page links regarding backpacking food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner? I'm tired of eating the same old thing.

Did you try Google? I'm still happy with the same old thing so I aven't been looking.

Cain, A google will bring up a number of sites that can be helpful. One of the sites that I have used and have seen posted here on HQ as well is http://www.freewebs.com/freezerbagcooking/
One of my favorite cool weather recipes is on another site and it can be found here http://www.hikingandbackpackingguide.com/backpacking-recipes-dumplin.php I have also carried the bacon buns that are listed on this site and recommend them as well.

Yeah, I tried google, but there was so much info out there and I was looking for what you guys liked.

Rage, I appreciate the link on freezerbag cooking.

Thanks,

Here are three excellent sources for backcountry recipes, and techniques.

"Trail Food", Alan S. Kesselheim, Ragged Mountain Press, 1994

"The Well Fed Backpacker", June Flemming, Vintage Books, 1986

"The Wilderness Cookbook", Bonnie McTaggart, Jill Bryant, & Chum McCleod, Second Story Press, 1999.

There are many other other good books of course, and there is also a wealth of information in the better backpacking forums.

Cheers and good eating,

PKH
