I'm trying to set up something called the Outdoor Bloggers Network, and would like to know who among us is posting to a Hiking or General Outdoors Blog.
You can message me if you like, or post yours here.
As it's very difficult to find such pages in the search engines, all we can do is try to get word of mouth going in order to promote the sport in this fashion, so I'm counting on you....
:adore:

Tom Mangen has a hiking blog at:
http://tommangan.net/twoheeldrive

And if you go to his home page (below) he tells of some of his hikes and has neat pics to go along with it.

-He's a pro (journalist/photog) and his site and writing show it (definately worth a look).

Thread were he introduced his blog to the board:

Thanks- I do have his Blog listed.

I am especially looking for the kind with RSS feeds (though not exclusively)
Thanks much!

don't know if this is what you're looking for, but shane steinkamp, at www.theplacewithnoname.com has a lot of his trips recorded in narrative... probably a little spiritual for some, but that's ok with me...

Does Tom Mangen have RSS?
I didn't see it on his site.

I wish Tom did have RSS!
As a matter of fact, some of the best do not.

What I'm doing is converting them to javascript, which makes it easy to insert on the page, and they are updated in real time.

I follow a political blog site called GNN at www.gnn.tv, there's been a guy there posting a series of blogs on there about what he calls Guerrilla Camping. His stuff is at blackpacker.gnn.tv. Some of it is great, some of it is a bit dry, but he knows his stuff. I sometimes wonder if he's one of you guys, since he brags about his pop can stove all the time... ;)

The GNN blog has been interesting. For every person in the world there is usually a different life style. His is interesting, though not one I wish to emulate. Though I am curious how he keeps his electronics dry.

Curretly I live in the tropics. Hiking means you have wet gear and dry gear. You wear your wet gear all day, and you sleep in you dry gear. Even the dry gear gets wet with sweat. By the sounds of it BlackPacker carries a laptop. Keeping it dry must be no easy feat.
