Just found a really great tarp for use as a ground cloth or wind break:

http://www.botac.com/usarbabl.html

It would stop any wind (maybe not a hurricane) and could even protect you from the ocassional bear or other rodent.

I know that the weight wouldn't bother some of the guys on these forums, but I think I'll let my trusty sidekick carry this one.:ahhhhh:

I have personal, first hand knowledge with that puppy, and I will take my chances with the wind. And yes, it will stop hurricane force winds if properly anchored. BD

In a pinch, it might serve as a maxipad for the bionic woman.:hmmmm:

That thing will stop big chunks of frag from a 155mm howitzer shell, I know that for a fact.

Yes, but will it stop an angry wife?

Not even deploying 7,000 miles away will protect you from that.

I was considering how well this would work in conjunction (as a backup to) with one of those bear fences...

If Rock strengthens his ridge line with say, uhm, a steel cable, Pan just might be able to make a No Sniveller with the Ballistic Blanket! BD
