Found an awesome review for anyone considering one:

Just thought I would share that. It was really well done. I might pick up
one of these little guys.

There are enough military people here. Does anyone know how one average joe
could go about getting the CMG Ultra-G (issue model) ? They are pretty tough
to find, or otherwise grossly overpriced.

Those are excellent lights. I thought Gerber bought CMG and moved production to China. That NSN mil version is most likely US made to be in compliance with the Berry Amendment. I endurance tested on of those when they first camp out be hanging it from a cord looped around the rear view mirror of an old F100 pickup so that it would constantly bang into the steel dashboard. It always worked. Lithium batteries work great in the cold of course and they are lighter.

I've seen people use them but have never tried one myself.

I have a bunch of these little lights. Have been stuffing them in stockings around this home at xmas.....one for each hunting buddy... One in my survival pack, one hangs around my neck each night at hunt camp. Enough light to work by, 41 hour run time on the Task lights I have. Mine are not the ultra's... Always work. Purchased them thru Campmor. Not sold at campmor anymore, atleast not under the CMG name. 5 star rating with me.
