CorrectionLast week, I purchased a Demo tent from Big Agnes at 60% off - it was used once by a National Geographic team. I'll use it car & boat camping with my wife. Previously I purchased one of their Demo Seedhouse One tents for backpacking & canoe camping in cool weather. Both demo items are in excellent condition and 60% off retail. Otherwise I can't afford this stuff.
I also have a Demo Lost Ranger sleeping bage from several years ago that was in like new condition from them.

The reason I write is that when I ordered an item last week their website regarding Demo items was really out of date.... they thought that they were out of the items listed that I wanted and called to say that they would search the wearhouse for those items (which were found) and also update the website - just now done on January 24th.

There's several good sleeping bags and tents that may be of interest at: http://www.bigagnes.com/str_specials.php

If anyone has had a negative experience with Demo items from Big Agnes, then I'd like to hear about it, everything I've bought from them used has been in excellent condition.

Also , I'd like to hear if anyone has used their sleeping bag & sleeping pad
system with a Hennessy Hammock.

Make that past tense. Looks like two dozen demo sleeping bags and a dozen demo tents sold in less than a week. Some were new pre-production models that were sold because they decided not to manufacture the item. Makes me wonder if those individual items were hand made as they never went into mass production. Anyhow, it's a good site to monitor. So is: http://www.featheredfriends.com/sale/saleitems.aspx that has previously been listed on this site.

I want one of those new light weight air mattresses. What I don't want is a matress that crinkles every time I move. A guy who I will always detest camped near me one night and I woke up every time he rolled over. He was clearly a bad human being...because he made crinkly noises. I have been using the 3/4 length thermarest. I want to go back to a full length mattress with less weight....but no noise. Which pad should I get?

This story is exactly why I got the Big Agnes. . . those other ones make so much noise. . . plus the BA is light and rolls up tight. . . and relatively inexpensive. . . about $45 and I can keep it inside my pack. . .

I've never noticed it while I was sleeping on one.

i don't know what to tell you. i have been searching high and low for the perfect pad. skids swears by the neo air but i can hear him even if he's camped 10 yds away. i would freak out in the middle of the night and scream and kick and run nekkid in camp if i had to sleep on one of those things, even thought they are comfy. i decided on a big agnes insulated air core for 3 season camping and bought one off of grommet for half price, only used a couple of times. she included a note "hope you're good at blowing". i totally thought she meant something else and was confused until i got the thing out and tried to get it inflated...
i was dizzy when i was done blowing, but, thankfully, i had this amazing thick airpad to pass out on. i think i'll keep it. i'm just gonna have to get it out immediately upon getting to camp and work on it in stages.
also, if you didn't have this weird hangup on weight that you seem to have, you could look at the exped down thingies with the built-in pump dumaflatchie on it.

I have a full assortment of thermarests of differnt thicknesses and lengths. I used one of those waifer thin 3/4 length pads last year. It just wasn't enough. A young man my age needs a full length pad with insulation but without more weight.

If I get it and find it's too much to blow up I'll add it to my gear collection and go with an older thermarest.
