This one is iffy. Most hikers don't carry hand held flashlights like this poster carries in their ebay store. Might want to start stocking headlamps if you want to get hiker business.

where the heck did all those men in horned helmets come from?
There's a "wind up" headlamp at SierraTrading Post That may interest some of you instead of the spammers stuff: http://www.sierratradingpost.com/Product.aspx?baseno=97091
Haven't tried it myself, but there's a review that says: "The crank rechargeable LiOn battery pack is only 110 mAh so you might want to crank it before doing some dicey moves. But you can put 2700 mAh NiMH batteries in the included 2nd battery pack for 3 AA batteries." Weights almost 6 oz. - is that less than the handheld flashlights that you shake or squeeze?
Anybody else got recommendations of products that they'd like to mention to compete with the spammer?

Bluesky is a spammer - he signed up for one purpose, to post a spam message to drive traffic to his online store.
Pure_Mahem is a long time poster who has posted on a variety of subjects. As I recall, he is an employee of Wal-Mart and not terribly fond of the job, so I don't think him likely to be motivated to "spam" us just to drive traffic to Wally-World. He does from time to time report on his likes and dislikes of their sporting goods department which I for one find helpful.

Spam sales soar as recession rages

Spam, the wonderful meat in a can that is inexpensive yet tasty, is seeing its sales increase, according to a recent story in The New York Times. Blame the economy, where diners are looking for cheap ways to put meat on the kitchen table. Or on the restaurant table.
Other thrifty foods that are selling well across the country, many of which will fill you up, according to the Times story, include rice, beans, macaroni and cheese, pancake mixes, instant potatoes, Jell-O, Kool-Aid, fruit and vegetable preservatives, and beer.
At the Hormel Foods Corp. plant in Austin, Minn., two shifts of workers have been making Spam seven days a week since July, and they've been told the busy work schedule will continue indefinitely.
