Anyone ever tried using one of those convenience store coffee mugs as a cozy?

I was trying to straighten some stuff up in my closet when I came across a coffee cup with the drinking holes glued shut.

Looked at it in puzzlement for a while, and then remembered doing this so I could try it out as a cozy. -Like many of my projects it got put aside and forgotten.

Now it's probably never going to be used, as I have a cozy I'm very happy with.

Thought I'd pass along the idea though, as I think it still has possibilities.

I've used the kind with Styrofoam between two thin plastic layers (the really old Mickey D's coffee cups) - I pulled a wool sock that had seen better days over it.

I was carrying one to use as a... coffee cup. I know imagine that. However, I've converted to the Lemon Aide Container with Homemade Cozy method now. I actually even made not too long ago new cozies similar to the ones we use on with our cooking system. I did some testing because I was tired of my coffee getting cold quickly. I need to check with Rock and find out how well his is working on his hike.

EEEWWWWW!
You ruined it!
You can't put coffee in those things!
It gets into the plastic and they never lose the coffee taste.
They're for fountain drinks, hot chocolate, and maybe cup a soup.

I know it might seem treasonous, but I've never liked coffee.
Used to drink it in the Army, but that was just to fit in, and for the caffeine boost.
Pretty soon after I musterd out I stopped drinking it.

OK... Hot Chocolate works too. Or maybe hot herbal teas, my favorite is peppermint.

But PLEASE don't make me drink a fountain drink! http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/sick007.gif One of my meds make them taste like I've just chewed on something metallic.

I hate it when I accidentally chomp down on a piece of aluminum foil...it's feels like I've been plugged into an electric outlet. The upside is that I can pick up NPR on my internal head radio...if the aliens will be quite...shut up I tell you...shut up. No I didn't like the probe I don't care what you say.

On a lighter note, I use a 16 oz nalgene bottle inside a beer huggy (the thin fabric type foam) for my hot beverages. The small nalgene also serves as my measuring cup, and when you have the opportunity for a cold beverage there is an insulated huggy available.

I had to have several teeth capped with gold after our auto-accident (it cracked several of my molars). Every once in a while, I pick up a radio station. Scared the crap out of me the first time it happened.

You consider listening to NPR an upside? puke: Too chocked full of liberal drivel IMHO.

As for a cozy, in cold weather I just put my small titanium mug inside my glove, which is off my hands as I cook... Dont spill! If I am winter camping, we bring insulated mugs...no cozy needed.
