Ish: also known as -ish, or as the ish factor: suffix applicable to any word to make note of it's vagueness, eg: It's five-ish miles to the next shelter. It's been hottish lately, hasn't it? Yeah, I'm hungry-ish, let's eat.

Must have something to do with being away from an analytical, exact society for so long. The woods and fuzzy measurements go well together.
