I just added a bunch of states and trails to the trails section of the forum. I hope that catches up on the trails. If I missed any please remind me.

Chesapeake-Ohio Trail runs into DC. Ties up to AT.

That's for real but yes I was jerking chains. Wonder what Guam has?

Since site maintenance is a lot of work, I understand how it can take a while. But I think this site - or any site - that has a list of ALL states/territories for listing "in-the-state" trails provides a fantastic opportunity for hikers to share thoughts. I was (mostly) kidding about DC and Guam, but I was thinking of the C & O Towpath (it's correct name) since when I know it crosses the AT at Harper's Ferry. I hadn't known it was 170 miles long (which qualifies as a long trail, I think!). AND, it does start in DC. So even someplace counter-intuitive like DC deserves a listing. Delaware? Who knows, until it's listed. (Even Guam seems to have some neat trails, called "boonie trekking" or some such, according to the 'Net!)

So maybe when all the other things Rock would prefer doing get done, he can add the rest of the states.

Now that he's added California, now I have to go hike a bunch of its trails!

There are actually rail trails in Delaware. Dunno how many - the book's at home.

I don't think the C&O Pathway is a rail-trail in the current sense. It follows the old canal, as well as rail, but I think it is an under-known way to 'hike' from the AT right into DC, since the junction of the two is in Harper's Ferry.

To my fascination, since I never thought the words "Delaware" (the state) and "Hiking Trail" would be used in the same sentence, it appears there are at least 5 trails.
