Okay, so far so good on the money. But I'm gonna need some good intel, 'cause I don't know much about the CDT. Who's gonna step up and be my Warren Doyle of the CDT. Anyone? Anyone?
Shirley, you jest. you must know someone who can answer a few questions.

Talk to Sly.
pack rat, who owns the hiker's welcome hostel in glencliff has done the cdt
Talking to Jim and Ginny is what got me into this whole mess. I don't think I would've decided to try it if not for their enthusiasm for the trail. I do have some folks to turn to -- a couple of the Wizards who did it last year and two more doing it this year. Plus I went to 30-30's CDT workshop at the Gathering, which was excellent.
Packrat's a good choice. I'll talk to him as well.
When intending to do a long hike I like to compile as much info from as many sources as possible, and then synthesize that information into a completely unrealistic plan that I jettison the day I step foot on the trail.
It's worked pretty well for me so far.
This may help?

ps. ping me when you get down to my neck of the divide. :)
I'm getting married in June (now there's a scary thought) but otherwise should be able to help out if you need it....
