Hog On Ice

The Spark-lite fire starter looks to be a good choice for lighting alcohol stoves like the Ion or Turbo V8 and I have heard of people using the Spark-lite for that purpose. What I am wondering about is how good they would be for lighting cold alcohol (ex winter camping with temps in the 10-20 deg F region)? Anyone have any ideas as to the application in the cold of the Spark-lite for lighting alcohol stoves like the Ion or Turbo V8?
For reference look at a typical link selling these devices: Spark-lite (http://www.tadgear.com/x-treme%20gear/fire%20starters%20main/spark-lite.htm)
Basically the Spark-lite is just the flint, spring, and steel wheel from a typical butane lighter mounted in a simple and small tube - total weight less than .1 ounce. It is sold with some tinder but for use with alcohol I see no need for the tinder. Based of some reviews it looks to be very reliable. Unfortunately I have not tried it personally thus the reason I am looking for opinions.
