We are having an end of year sale for the 2011 BMT Thru-Hikers Guide(c)! Until February of 2012 there will be free shipping on all remaining copies of the BMT Guide in stock. I've got to clean out the closet for the 2012 guides. If you are looking for a stocking-stuffer gift for the trail dreamer in your life, or want to get a guide for planning a future hike knowing that it is sometime in the future when you will hike and plan on getting an updated guide closer to the hike anyway, now is the time!

Aha, we were just looking at how fast we got the first order after posting that. Good to know who it is.

And to think of all that money I saved on shipping expenses - 15 miles as the crow flies. Detail Man, MedicineMan, wisenber and I had a recent hang along the BMT in the Smokies and your book came up in conversation - a fine addition to my library.

Hope to meet you on the trail someday - I'll need to have a taste of Maker's Mark for you.

Sounds good. I couldn't get the outfitters in Knoxville to buy the guides last year, I'll try again next year. Little River here in Maryville does, but they are sold out and are holding off until the 2012 guides are out for re-stocking.

I neglected to check the mail yesterday. The BMT Thru-Hikers' Guide was waiting for me - an autographed copy. Now that's fast delivery - Dix must have dropped it off while visiting Turkey Creek.

Rock, what an out-$&*ing-standing job you did on this. Simple, clean, packed full of details and so user friendly that even a butterbar can figure it out.

And a rare photo of Uncle Fungas that did not contain at least a foot of snow.

You know it.

Hey Rock,

I will order a couple of guides for the hostel. Every summer we get plenty of AT hikers who are looking for their next adventure but don't have 6 months.

Very cool. I am starting to hear that a lot.

Yes, but the 2012 guide will be slightly more accurate on the profile. That said, you probably won't notice the difference, but I did it again from scratch anyway.

If you go the QVC route you may need a well known trail celebrity to do a sales pitch. Maybe someone like Jack Tarlin, Warren Doyle or Minnesota Smith. :aetsch:
