for those of y'all that know me, you will not be surprised at this, but i completely demolished my gregory jade 60. bent the stays damn near 90 degrees and snapped the plastic backboard totally in half. i called gregory to see if they could fix it and they said, sure, no problem. they gave me an rma and an address and off my baby went. they got it back to me today. under 3 weeks turnaround and it's good as new. well, maybe it still smells a little. the website says "reasonable" repair costs, but there's no bill in the box so i sent them a line, asking for the bill and they tell me don't worry about it.

GOoooooo GREGORY!!!

also, they completely sewed in a new butt pad where my black girl booty rubbed the lining off.

on a bitchy side note, people tell me that they love the small vendors because of the customer service, but my experiences have been totally different. i've gotten shitass service and crappy attitude from the dick at six moons but companies like gregory and big agnes have bent over backwards to make sure i'm happy with my gear. go figure.

Hog On Ice
2011-12-06, 21:04
me too - my first pack in recent history is a Gregory Forester - I still use it for trail maintenance trips

speaking of which - hows your section of the BMT Rock? Clear out those old blowdowns with that side hill walkaround yet?

I had a nice Gregory but I carried an Osprey in 2000. It's not fair to judge the ULA pack because I can't say how much of the problem was my back. It may very well have been all about my back for longer than I realized. Dr Abdu says I should be able to hike in the spring and if I can I will. I have a pile of packs and I'll feel them all up and see what stimulates me the best.

It was a malicious air pocket. That doesn't look like the effect of an air pocket. I believe it was a sudden gust of gravity.

I've been using a z40 for a little over a year now for ski tours and climbing. Received it to evaluate and fell in love with it. Durable, love how the pack rides of the back with a mesh ventilation panel and has the old school water bottle holster I enjoy.

Good stuff....

We spend our vacations crapping in the woods, eating terrible food and sleeping on the ground.

Are you sure?
