I'm courious to see what others here think of this, it's called The Scrubba (http://www.gizmag.com/the-scrubba-portable-washing-machine/21895/?utm_source=Gizmag+Subscribers&utm_campaign=47cc5c43d3-UA-2235360-4&utm_medium=email). It's a traveling washing sustem, sort of and it can also serve as a dry bag for keeping items dry when on the trail on rainy days. Budget minded people could possibly use a gallon size freezer bag. Any thoughts? SS

Why not just stick the clothes in a dry bag, fill and shake. Why pay extra just to have the 'scrubbas?' I wouldnt buy it.

It looks like that's exactly what it is, an ultralight dry bag with an air purge valve. I would think one could just as easely purge the air before closing the top without the valve. SS

I thought walking in the rain was the automatic clothes washer as well as a personal shower. If you only want the shower and not the clothes wash you can just call it hike naked day.

I thought it was a scam or joke, but it appears that this guy is serious. I don't see much value in the air valve, as another points out. The scrubber inside may damage rather than clean some knit garments. That said, a piece of nylon net or similar that can be used in a dry bag or plastic bag could also be used as a body scrubber and be of more value. I use a plastic bag or a cut down soda bottle on the trail for a sink/water carrier/dipper. Either works great, is light weight, and nearly free.
