Loading the pack, meeting a friend, packing the trunk, checking the map, it can only mean one thing…road trip!

I met my friend Andy (Two Speed) and hit the road for Cumberland Island, GA for a few days of island hiking and camping; CI is Georgia’s southernmost barrier island and National Seashore. We left Atlanta for the long drive to the coast camping the first night at Crooked River SP and eating supper at Barbara Jeans and the best crab cakes ever.

where we camped wasn't sulfur like i thought, not bad tasting, but still need treating, I made a gravity filter and used activated carbon so it all worked out jus fine

Holy shit....how the fuck is father two sped?Doing well. That trip was my second to the Georgia barrier islands, and I'm definitely hooked.

One thing, though. Jermm was right, a kayak would have been a better choice for transport over to the island. Yeah, would have had to work to do the paddle, and timing the tides and current looks a bit tricky but having a boat handy would have been well worth it.

My bad, but that mistake won't happen again.
