In case you were wondering, yes the site was down temporarily today. Looks like I got 6,000 hits from MSN web crawlers in a very short period of time. Thanks Microsloth.

Microsloth crappy search engine Bing was sending a bunch of web robots to crawl all through the site. It did 6,000 in a minute or something like that. Not a nice web neighbor. It was screwing up my server for me and all other websites which shared the host.

bing should be banned... causes me more trouble with my clients ... or course, the rest of the search engines (and browser "helpers") are no better, some worse

Why does it do that? So it can give search results, like when I google something?

Or is it just cuz it wants to mess with competition?

It is indexing pages for its searches. Basically keeping its data up to date on the site. But it shouldn't hit the same site 6,000 times in a minute, hour, or even a day. That is total BS.

no - but the tin foil jock strap might be a good ideaDear HOI, I've taken your advice and made a tin-foil cup. the chaffing is HORRIBLE! I've taken some pinch-on rubber tubing from the auto-parts store to cushion it. Please update those fine instructions on making tin-foil "protection" to include some chaffing advice.

I wasn't saying I would offend ALL readers of the site,
only those still capable of being offended; such as
Rosaleen and Dixie. Not intending to leave out anyone
else, they simply come to mind first.

rhjanes, why don't you send this to the WASHINGTON D.C.
administration. I would bet they could spend way more
money on this without materially affecting the outcome.

Because zombie's don't do empirical studies. Zombie Politicians always fight because they all want to wear the "Centurion" hat.
It really ticks them off to wear tin-foil hats.

If you think Dixie is offended it is only because she likes to play with her prey before killing it.
