what's a good monocular? i've looked at brunton and alpen but the reviews seem to go all over the place.

i've had lasik surgery in just one eye so binoculars are pretty useless.

isn't there enough adjustability in the eye pieces of the binocs to permit different focus points for each eye??? - admittedly it has been a long time since I used binocs (hands shake too much these days) but I remember adjusting each side differently to account for the differences in my eyes

Chumpchange,
You might try a piece of electricians tape over the eyepiece of one tube of your binoculars.
Just a thought.

ok, i confess. other reasons i'm leaning toward a monoc is size and weight. just seems a lot more convenient to use one hand instead of both(after you're focused).

of course it seems that i've always shut my left eye anyway while looking the the binocs.
i did find a huge pair of binocs somebody left at Neyland stadium that was really a flask that leaked.

the nikon binocs i have don't have individual adjustments. just one focus and range up on top.

I've got one I found in the woods. I don't know who makes it or what model it is. But it makes things bigger when I look through it.
