I have a Coleman Peak 1 backpack... Yes, the original from the late 80's. I was wondering if anyone might be interested in doing a little MOD... Or at the very least, helping me out with a mod for it. 3983

This same pack, just red instead of blue...

Have you tried removing the bag from the frame and looking at making your own bag to go on it?

Well that's actually what I was thinking about doing... I have read that the Alice pack (medium) fits the frame perfectly... But I have no clue how to actually "make" my own pack

Sewing is an art. It takes time to learn to do it well. One thing you might want to think about doing that I have seen before, is to just put your stuff into sacks that you strap to the frame. It is a very old technique to mount things on a frame or "frame pack". I've done it with a chainsaw and accessories before and there is a guy that makes a form of Molle pack frame system that is sort of like that. Basically like a molle panel that you lash things too with a set of shoulder straps and hip belt.

Hmmmm that's interesting. I'd like to look into that Molle panel deal. the stuff sack idea sounds great too thanks

Yea, that is the pack. I think there is probably something like that you could mount to the frame of your Peak 1.

Found some pictures of my original "myth"... I guess it is true that you can mod it... But I dunno if this would be practical...
