Does anyone know of a US source for what is called Loose Leaf Toilet Tissue over in the UK? This is an example of what I am looking for: http://www.gompels.co.uk/loose-leaf-toilet-tissue-2ply-36-x-250.html only I'm looking for a small amount (1000 sheets or so) from a US source. A bit over 40 years ago I knew it was available since it was used in a school that I went to.

i'm guesin on the trail you'd be able to find all kinds of loose leaves....

I don't think they use the single leaves any more. I looked at a couple of janitorial supply pages and all I found was various size rolls.

Sounds like what they put in MREs

I somehow get the feeling that I'm expected to know the answer....

But I don't know how to get a small quantity because it's sold by the case to institutions (http://www.bettymills.com/shop/product/view/Kimberly%20Clark%20Professional/KCC48280.html?referer=search).

hummm - 9000 sheets to a case - a bit more than I'd likely use in my remaining years of backpacking especially since the idea is to reduce the amount used and carried

thanks Ray - now I need to decide what to do with all those extra sheets - I suppose I could get a dispenser and install it in my bathroom - do you think they would sell a case to an individual?

I don't know about you but I'm getting tired of young salespeople telling me that what I just purchased (anything) will last me the rest of my life.:banghead:

This is a close competitor. At least you don't have to carry a case.

If I bought one of those boxes of single tp tickets they'd probably send only half a box with a note "this will be enough to last you the rest of your life."

still a roll product - the idea is to save weight by using an appropriate number of sheets to wipe, drop the top sheet, wipe again, ... , put unused sheets back into zip lock for next time - probably only 3-4 sheets used per shit instead of a dozen or more

note it is also much easier to select a reasonable number of sheets to pack for a particular hike

why not just tear the individual sheets off the roll and make your own?

Why not just get a pocket pack of tissues? I've resupplied TP with this sort of thing before: http://www.walgreens.com/store/c/kleenex-groovy-palm-pocket-pack-tissues/ID=prod6046763-product

take a regular roll of toilet tissue and slid it up halfway of your hiking pole-duct tape the bottom of the role so it will not slide down.i have been doing these for years. i get the pink tissue so it matches my shoes.if this is too complicated then strap on a sears and roebuck like my granddaqddy used to do.
