What other tents are available that can be pitched fly first, or all-in-one? I really like the Hilleberg hoop tents, but they are so expensive. Any other alternatives? It seems that this would be a great feature for a tent, but there doesn't seem to be many out there. Wouldn't it be nice to be able to pitch the fly first and then 'hang' the tent inside when it is raining? Or, am I all wet on this?

I don't know about tents - but I hang the fly to my Hennessey Hammock from a separate rope with "tree-huggers" - the fly (I use one of the larger flys)and the stakes, tree-huggers and cord ride in the outside pocket of my pack. First thing out - Last thing in.

Many of the Kelty tents have continuous pole sleeves so you can pitch the fly and tent together (just keep the fly clipped to the tent) and not get the tent canopy wet during a rainy pitch. Trouble is that if you take it down this way and have condensation on the underside of the fly, then the canopy will get damp. Possibly some of the tents that will pitch in a "fast-pack" fly-only configuration and then use clips to attach the canopy to the poles would satifsy you.
