Some nut sack shot at a guard at the Watts Bar Nuclear Facility Sunday. Hit the guard's vehicle. Supposedly the guard returned fire, and the intruder ran to the river and escaped by boat.

Rock works at the facility at Oak Ridge, not Watts Bar.

well, we know it wasn't Rock that shot back....the guy wouldn't have been alive to run to the river.

Somehow, shooting at a nuclear power plant, either by the perp or the security guard, doesn't seem like a good idea.

They can withstand a lot of impact. There's a video somewhere I saw once, took a direct hit from a mil jet. Place disintegrated. Not a scratch on the cooling towers.

The smart money here says he ADed into his own vehicle screwing around. To cover it up he started shooting at the river and calling for back up. No tire tracks or brass to recover.

That said, it could be real. But I know a couple of guys if they claimed this, I would be checking to make sure the bullet that hit the vehicle wasn't one of his.

Accidental Discharge. Here is a classic:

Also known as a Negligent Discharge (ND).

Accidental discharge. More accurately it should be "ND". If you keep your booger hook off the bang switch you'll never have a negligent discharge.

Doesn't help to get the weapon out of the holster fast and then shoot yourself in the foot.

Given your track record, that's probably a wise life choice. ;-)

Col. Cooper made the point once or twice. "Keep your finger off the trigger till your sights are on the target." Don't guess that can be said too often."
If the shooter is from Tennessee, we don't need to worry about the Nuc plant. If the shooter is from Alabama, we need to worry about the Nuc plant. Jus' sayin'
