It looked like Tex and me on the CDT.....except we were only half fast.

After watching that I cannot figure out why it took you so long to finish the trail.

Lots of zeroes.

That makes sense.

The funny thing is, I'm actually getting faster the older I get.
Check it out:
AT :2100 miles, 6.5 months
PCT:2650 miles, 5.5 months
CDT:2800 miles, 5.0 months

So in 2012, being twelve years older than I was when I hiked the AT, I covered a trail that was at least 700 miles longer in a month and a half less. And when you look at how many zeroes I took, in terms of actual hiking days I was walking less than 4 months to cover those 2800 miles, an average of 23 miles/day when actually walking.

Not bad for a 43 year old guy who carries a 50+ pound pack and 5 pounds worth of camera equipment.

Nice stuff. I watched your PCT video last Sunday and will watch the CDT one this Sunday.

Nice! Hope you enjoy "Embrace The Brutality." I think it's better than Wizards!

So when do you plan to rehike the A.T. so that you can complete the triple crown documentary?

Oh, it'll happen. Not next year, but pretty soon. Was thinking of calling it "Repeat Offender." There have been a lot of AT documentaries, though. If I don't feel like I can make something different I'll move on to other things.

You can. Too many AT documentaries try to document the trail. It is unnecessary because there is more info out there on the AT than is ever needed. Your brand of movies are the best representation I've seen of what it is like to hike with a group of "special" people. A few have tried it but they don't have your skills at knowing what not to include.

Thanks! I'm guessing by "special" we're talking "short bus special."

Fixed it for you, Sarge.
