I'm starting to get more of my personal time back and have start working on a few videos. I posted one yesterday updating my 1 pound hammock system I've been using since 2010.

Have you ever tested these rigs to failure? I mean on purpose that is...

I have tested other rigs to failure. Cuben Hammock, different suspension systems, early versions of the tarp, etc. These items I now use are the versions of those failures that incorporated fixes.

That said, I suppose I could test these past the point of which I normally use them. But Cuben fiber is expensive so I stopped trying to make this tarp fail years ago. And after a few years using this hammock expecting it to fail anytime I sort of gave up and started enjoying it.

I'm so disappointed that the thread drift hasn't gotten here yet.

Yes, lots of girth, not much length.

I just uploaded an update to my packing list, the last time I did that was 5 years ago. Recently I had someone who said they were looking at my list to work out what they wanted to carry and I was a little embarrassed to see how long it had been since I updated that. http://hikinghq.net/packing_list.html

The equipment pages are still a little out of date, so I have to get to work on those at some point, or streamline everything and put it into one page.

i took a look at your packing list. You've come a long way since you were cutting up combat jacket liners for wear.

I've been working a ton of overtime over the last few years. I get to buy stuff. In the Army it didn't matter how much they worked you, you always got the same pay. Of course I would rather be hiking more and working less.

There's something to be said for being paid hourly at times. I'm on salary and I work in IT, should I say more.
