New Signs in the Slickrock

[Beowulf]

Folks, thanks to a VERY generous donation by an anonymous friend of Sgt Rock's joining with funding from the Benton MacKaye Trail Association, we now have new trail junction signs for the BMT thru the Slickrock Wilderness. In addition, the Partners of the Joyce Kilmer Slickrock Wilderness paid for the non-BMT signs in that area, as well as the Snowbird Backcountry Area. We start putting those signs up this week, and hope they will all be in place by the end of July.

I've enjoyed the old signage. I liked having to stand the post up and turning it to where it probably showed the direction. I liked consulting three different sources to confirm which way to go. In Vietnam I was able to call in a random chopper to show me which way to go....thus making this civilian hiking more challenging.

the only place i got a bit confused was right before the hangover.it took me two or three trips back and forth a bit to make sure i was on the right trail.

either way, new signs are a welcome addition.

i got lost taking the subway in manhatten once because the lines on the subway map kept changing colors.wouldnt stop moving.
at least the signs on the bmt didnt move(much).
