Tonight I got home and was catching up on facebook when I saw this post: https://www.facebook.com/182249954768/photos/a.360794549768.147593.182249954768/10154232847514769/?type=3

Captain Mescall was my Troop Commander of Ghost Troop 2/2 ACR from June of 2003 to October of 2004 when I left the troop. He was a good man that believed in what he was doing over there. He served in Iraq again 2005-2006 on a transition team. I got a call after I retired from Cpt Caldwell one of our Platoon Leaders from Ghost Troop January of 2009 to let me know he had been killed in Afghanistan. Salute to you brother. I hope your wife and son know how much you told me you loved them. Now I am going to go drink a bourbon in your honor.

It was a pretty good day today and then I got snapped back to memories some good, some not so good. I thank God every day I made it, and try to live my life in a way that respects those that didn't.

So please, just take am moment and remember my friend Brian.

Dear Lord Jesus and Mary, Mother of God,
Hold all these brave souls in the palm of your hand, comfort them and their families.

Send angels of protection, love, and comfort to all the service men and women still at war,
bring them home safely and comfort their families.

We ask all our prayers in Jesus' name. Amen.

Remember the good, learn from the bad, and walk on. RIP Major Mescall.
