Does anyone have experience with these things? Worth the money?

There was a guy in 2000 that made all his gear out of Tyvek. He barely made it to Damascus as I recall. Frogg Toggs keep you dry for about .5 an hour. I wouldn't think it would work. New products are getting better all the time so it could happen.

His name was Tyvek. There is a picture of him in my gallery. He was "different". He was hiking to bring awareness to suicides by veterans and is still active doing that.

Yes, he is a Vietnam Vet. I liked his sister.

yeah but not hiking. That's why I don't hike in the rain...only on nice days and only on the slightly down hill side of every mountain. I only hike in places I know so I don't have to stop and take out my glasses and map and think.

Thanks, I'll buy garbage bags. They don't have to be used first, do they?

What about this? I know folks that have made their own drop cloths and ponchos out of this. It's softer and quieter than the contractor grade material.
