Rain Gear
My rain gear serves not only as rain protection, but also as wind breakers
and insulating layers. In cool weather they can be enough to keep you warm
without insulation, and in cold weather they work very well with my
winter insulation. |

ProVent Rain Jacket |
Cool jacket made from the same material as
Frogg Toggs, but with a better fit and rain flap. A good rain jacket is
essential. |

Seal
Skinz Socks |
Nice to keep the feet dry when light
weight backpacking in running shoes, especially in cold weather. These are
lined with GoreTex, but are also polyester knit, so they insulate like a
normal pair of hiking socks. |
1.2 |
OR rain mittens |
GoreTex rain mittens to keep your hands dry
in cold weather. Keeping dry is 60% of staying warm. These are part of a
layering system in colder weather. |

ProVent
Rain Pants |
Matching pants to the ProVent Jacket. Some
hikers don't carry rain pants except in winter, but these are also my pants
for doing laundry in, wind breakers on cool days, and a part of my layering
system. |
