Peak to Peak Trail and Wilderness Links
Peak to Peak Trail and Wilderness Links

This is the packing list I intend to use at the start of my thru-hike. I'm still refining my list and tying to reduce weight, so it may change before the start of my hike. If you compare this list to my normal packing list, you will see some slight differences, especially in areas dealing with clothing. Based on my experiences in the Appalachian mountains, I plan to carry a little more cold weather clothing just in case.

After Pearisburg, I intend to send home the section of gear marked winter clothing and exchange the winter list for the spring/summer/fall shelter list. I will exchange that stuff and get my winter clothing back prior to Vermont. This will help me to maintain a maximum weight of 33.75 pounds from skin out.

Notes:

My goals were based on my lean body weight of 135 Lbs.

Pack weight: 27.00 lbs (1/5 body weight)

Dry Pack Weight: 13.50 lbs (1/10 body weight)

Total Weight: 33.75 lbs (1/4 body weight)

Items in Bold Red are purchases I still haven't made.
